There is nothing as powerful as a changed mind! Part 2

Most of today’s blog is going to come from an article by James Clear. To read the full article, which I highly suggest you do, follow this link http://jamesclear.com/positive-thinking

First let’s talk about what negative emotions do to your brain. Negative emotions narrow your mind and focus your thoughts. Don’t believe me? Think about the last time you were scared about something, how able were you to focus on anything else? For example, if you have a fear of heights and you go hiking, how much are really paying attention to the beauty of nature around you, and how much are you focusing on not being close to the edge of the mountain? When you experience a negative emotion, your brain closes off from the outside world and focuses on the negative emotions.

Positive emotions do exactly the opposite. I’m going to use the example that James Clear uses.. a child who runs outside, gbwhatsapp download 2017 and plays with friends is developing athletic skills, social skills, and creative skills. The positive emotions that the child experiences during these activities

is allowing the child to learn life-long skills. The child is broadening his or her skills and increasing their potential.

So how do you increase positive thinking in your life so that you can broaden and build your life? Anything that sparks feelings of joy, contentment, and love. Here are some ideas : meditation, writing, and play. “Allow yourself permission to smile and enjoy benefits of positive emotion. Schedule time for play and adventure so that you can experience contentment and joy, and explore and build new skills.”

Usually we assume that happiness follows success, but it is actually the other way around. Researchers have noticed that happy people develop new skills, and these skills lead to more success, which results in more happiness, and on and on.

Neuroscientists have also discovered that people who are optimistic tend to have better moods, are more persevering and successful, and experience better physical health. On the other hand.. pessimistic people perform worse at school and work, have rockier interpersonal relationships, and die sooner than optimists.

Remember that even if you have been a pessimist all your life, due to neuroplasicity, you can rewire your brain and you can become optimistic and happy.

Life is hard, but you can stay strong. You don’t have to let life defeat you. Start fighting for the life you want!

Tell yourself positive affirmations everyday. Here are some examples:

  • Nothing is impossible!
  • I can be happy!
  • My life is my choice and I choose to be happy!
