There is nothing as powerful as a changed mind! Part 3

I’ve talked a lot about how positive thinking changes your brain physiologically. But if I know one thing, I know this… Positive thinking is a lot easier said than done, especially if you’re like me, and have been thinking negatively for most of your life. So today, I am going to try to give you suggestions of how you can become a more positive thinker. Not all of these will work for everyone, but I’m hoping that one of these suggestions will work for you.

Suggestion 1: Do the four things that lead to greatness (Tony Robbins) Video: Tony Robbins 4 Steps to Greatness

These include:

  1. Feed your mind- the world is full of negative things. You don’t need to search hard to find them. But if you actively search for good uplifting things (movies, music, books, good things in the news, etc.) you will be able to counter the negative with your positive.
  2. Make your body stronger- The body and mind body are interconnected. Strengthen one, and you strengthen the other.
  3. Find a role model and a plan- You need to know that it is possible to succeed! And you become the people you surround yourself with.
  4. Help someone else- you can always find someone to help. Getting outside of yourself and focusing on others will pull you out of your negativity.

Suggestion 2: Develop self worth

Self-confidence and self-worth are not the same thing and you can have self-confidence without self-worth. In these cases self-confidence is usually fleeting. For example, you woke up early and made yourself look really good today and you know it. So you walk around strutting and feeling good about yourself. Tomorrow, however, you wake up late and don’t have time to take a shower and you feel gross, worthless, and hideous. So you keep your head down and try to hide from people.

Self-worth means that you believe in yourself and know that you are more than your looks, your talents, or your bank account. Self-worth means that you know that as a person that you are worth something and that your worth doesn’t change whether you look like a supermodel one day or a zombie the next.

This takes a lot of practice. You have to stop caring what people say and what people think (especially yourself) and focus on the fact that you have unlimited potential and are worth just as much as everyone else on earth.

Suggestion 3: Pull yourself out of negative thoughts

One pretty effective way to do this is to wear a rubber band on your wrist. Every time you notice yourself having a negative thought, you snap the rubber band. Instantly, you are pulled away from the negative thought. After this, you should think of something positive. Eventually this will become a habit and you’ll train your brain to snap out of negative thoughts quickly and not dwell there.

Suggestion 4: Change your body language

This is a classic example of fake it until you make it. In this video, Amy Cuddy explains how body language can change the way you feel. Your body language shapes who you are. Have you noticed that when you are upset or scared your body language becomes different? You may cross your arms, and show that you have become closed off. You may wring your hands or grab your shoulder. But if you try and focus on positive and open body language, you will start to become more positive and open. Don’t believe me? You don’t need to try it much to find out. So try it!

Suggestion 5: Meditate

This may seem dumb to some, but meditation is a pretty great technique. lucky patcher download There are many different ways to meditate and everyone does it differently. In very simple and abbreviated terms: Meditation allows you to check out of your present situation and calm down. So if you are going through a very stressful time (which most people are), it’s good just to check out of your worries for a second. Don’t worry, they aren’t going anywhere, and when you are done meditating you will find renewed energy to take on those challenges.

Suggestion 6: Make a grateful journal

It’s very easy to focus on the negative. Like mentioned before, negative thoughts narrow the mind, until all you can see are the negative things. So if you look at your life, and physically write down some things that are good in your life, you are broadening your mind. It doesn’t have to be anything big. It could be as simple as: I’m grateful I got to eat lunch today, I’m grateful I have a phone that works, I’m grateful that I don’t have to walk 3 miles to a river to get water, or I’m grateful that I don’t have Ebola. Some days the positive aspects of you life may be hard to identify, we all have those days, but there is always something to be grateful for and acknowledging it will help broaden your mind to see more positive things. This is not a comprehensive list of things are you not aware of megabox hd?
